Bodies in Resonance Workshop

The ocean is more than its waves, the tree is more than its branches.
What happens when we move as both parts and whole?

Bodies in Resonance

A movement workshop exploring the singular and the collective

Nov 22 | 10am to 1pm
110-750 Hamilton St (The Post)

Artists and facilitators Guadalupe Martinez and Luciana D’Anunciação come together to offer a movement and dance workshop on the resonance between individual and collective expression.

Guadalupe is a visual and performance artist whose practice investigates the body in relation to time, space, and ritual. Luciana is a Brazilian-Canadian interdisciplinary artist working with dance, performance, and somatic practices, attuned to reciprocity between body, environment, and community. Together, they bring their shared interest in the aesthetic of body sensation in performance, framing art-making as a way to foster care for self while strengthening community bonds.

In this workshop, we will tend to ourselves as sensing beings while attuning to the larger whole we are part of. Through composition games, sounding and vocal exercises, and dance improvisation, participants will engage practices that foster intuitive decision-making, group thinking, and individual contribution.

Open to movers of all levels of experience, this workshop invites curiosity, play, and embodied awareness of how the parts build the whole. The space is wheelchair accessible.

Sliding Scale: Drop-in $65–$100
