BECOMING

A multi-screen video installation on the human experience of impermanence.

Becoming is a multi-screen video installation that explores the human experience of memory and impermanence. Conceived by Luciana Freire D’Anunciação, the work was created in collaboration with the Roundhouse Community Dancers.

Through four simultaneous video projections, Becoming fragments the self, time, and space, evoking the elusive and dream-like nature of memory: non-linear, fractured, and interwoven with fiction. Dance improvisations and original poetry, developed collectively with the dancers, are layered into a rich soundscape, enveloping visitors in a multisensory, immersive environment.

The installation was open to the public during gallery hours at The Roundhouse Performance Centre, inviting visitors to enter, linger, and experience the work at their own pace.
